Garnering comparisons with My Summer of Love and Fish Tank for its strong young female focus, Kicks is a markedly assured feature debut from Lindy Heymann. An intelligent and witty comment on modern celebrity culture, the film features outstanding performances from striking, fresh faces in British acting talent; newcomer Kerrie Hayes (EIFF Trailblazer) and Nichola Burley (Donkey Punch) and the Liverpool locations are evocatively shot by Eduard Grau (A Single Man).
